Ask, Seek, Knock: Living Boldly in Your New Creation Identity

Matthew 7:7-8

7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Believers are entrusted with great favor, privilege and power. We have been translated from death to life and from darkness to pure light. Asking Father conversationally about any topic is a special privilege that Jesus Christ has bestowed upon us.

We can ask amiss if we are looking to hard at our performance rather than at Jesus’s performance. If we are too sin conscious we will focus all our asking on ways to control our dead flesh rather than being guided by our new creation identity.

We are now made righteous, holy and blameless new creations the old has been crucified with Christ and no longer lives. We don’t need to constantly ask for the attributes that we already possess.

This transformation is central to “Christ marketing,” if you will—a way to reflect and share the fullness of our new creation status, shining His light in a way that draws others to the truth. When we walk in the Spirit, unhindered by doubt and fear, we accept our new Christ-given status with boldness.

We must stop coming before Father as dirty rotten sinners but rather come to Him in bold confidence in the finished work of Christ in us, the hope of glory.

Seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness changes drastically as we embrace our new holy identity. We can walk in the Spirit unhindered by doubt and fear as we accept our new Christ given status.

In bold confidence we can knock on doors and gain entry to new opportunities and dreams that we would never have attempted to enter into in our powerless religious mindset before. Focusing our attention on truth promotes transformation and leads us into Father’s supremely designed plans for our lives. Too many plans go unfulfilled because of stolen identity.

Too many people don’t receive deliverance because we simply don’t fully know who we are or embrace the enormous miracle of our conversion. Asking with confidence gives us a new command over our God given destinies.

Seeking knowing that we are beloved children and new creations filled with Holy Spirit gives us great insight into Father’s plans for His chosen and elected children.

Knocking in confident trust in every imaginable provision and deliverance positions us to acquire all that we need to bring the kingdom of heaven into our circumstances and fills our cup to overflowing so that the tangible love of God pours out of us into all those around us.

Deception lurks to throw us off our new creation status and blur the vision of who we are and what we can accomplish in Christ. Let’s not waste anymore time with false humility and fear.

Let’s embrace who we are with great vigor and trust and ask with confidence, seek with assurance, and knock with great expectations. Father will be greatly exalted, as He should be, by our steadfast agreement with the Word of God. Previously untapped Holy Spirit power awaits. Hallelujah!

Father, I am extremely grateful for Your marvelous salvation plan. Your grace and mercy overwhelm me. I am exactly who You say that I am. I will ask with great confidence. I will seek first Your kingdom.

I will knock on the doors of the new visions that I will see with my new creation heart. I will trust You more. I will fully accept Your amazing blessings with new found gratitude and employ those blessings confidently.

I’m absolutely sure that I am a new creation and the old has gone. I will have all the power and resources that I will need to accomplish all the purposes that You have ordained for me to fulfill. I am anointed and set free from my old life to follow Jesus Christ with new steadfast vigor. I am really thankful. I love You. In Jesus name. Amen.
