Isaiah 43:2: When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
Fortitude is to have courage in pain or adversity. Fortitude flourishes in our new creation identity and begs to be poured out into every circumstance. These promises that Father espouses from Isaiah are yes and amen to us in Christ Jesus. We can be steadfastly determined that we will be rescued and preserved and equipped for any trial or any adverse circumstances.
We are completely delivered from sin. We are given great ability to avoid temptation. The revelation of our flesh being crucified is the life raft that takes us across the turbulent rivers of temptation. The choice to employ the promises of the Father in the midst of the most intense heat of trying circumstances is the fire extinguisher that puts out those threatening flames. The choice to believe in the promises of the Father before we see breakthrough propels us through every fire completely unharmed and even delivers us from the smell of smoke.
We can laugh at the fire and laugh at the flood and laugh at the turbulent waters because we know that we will be delivered. We are never alone in any trial. Never! Jesus will never leave us nor forsake us. Never! We will not be overcome by the devil and his schemes. Never! We are more than conquerors filled with Holy Spirit. Fortitude arises through belief. We are most likely going to have to go “through” many trials in this crooked and perverse world so why not go “through” with less complaining and more believing? Let’s choose absolute certainty and confidence in the promises of the Father and walk in the victory that Jesus paid for. Enjoy!
Father, I’m so grateful for Your grace and salvation. I know that You are with me through every trial and temptation. I know that You have placed fortitude in my new creation heart. I am strong and courageous and confident. I will walk in victory over my crucified flesh and through every negative circumstance. I’m blessed. I’m free. I’m delivered. I’ll never walk alone. I’m really grateful. I love You. In Jesus name. Amen.
