so that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honour, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,
The Rich and Powerful Finished Work of Jesus Christ
The finished work of Jesus Christ is rich and powerful and waiting earnestly for our agreement. Farmers work hard to cultivate their ground before they plant their crops. They use natural fertilizers and other methods to prepare the ground for a rich harvest.
Cultivating Faith Through God’s Word
Likewise we can cultivate our faith by filling our minds with the astonishing liberating and beautiful truth found in the Word of God.
Correcting Erroneous Teachings About Our Worth
We can purge old familiar thoughts and the actions that follow out of our lives by forcing ourselves to agree with the truth no matter what we see or how we feel. Unfortunately, most of us have been errantly taught that we are trash and Christ went to the cross for a bunch of lousy, worthless, sinners. Father saw that there was no way for us to be reconciled to Him so He made a way to reconcile Himself to us by making us righteous and holy and blameless through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
The Purpose of Jesus’ Sacrifice
He established the WAY and the TRUTH and the LIFE, Jesus, for us to place our trust in and become new creations. Jesus went to the cross not because we are trash but rather to get the trash off us. He could have done it anyway that He wanted but He chose making us new creations qualifying our spirits to house the Holy Spirit.
Guarding Our Faith
The Holy Spirit cannot dwell in an unclean vessel. That’s why we need to guard our faith. We must embrace and force ourselves to agree with the truth no matter what we see or feel. Truth trumps feelings, emotions, experiences and facts. The genuineness of our faith is solidified by boldly accepting the truth and that truth says we are righteous and holy and blameless and above reproach. It’s a stunning miracle! When we stubbornly believe that the attributes of Jesus are alive and well in our new creation beings we can then see them move to influence our behaviour. It’s truly a remarkable faith!
Prayer of Gratitude and Confidence
Father, I am so grateful for Your salvation plan. I will walk in confidence in my new creation identity. I am now made righteous and holy and blameless and above reproach by the miracle of new birth. Holy Spirit, please teach me more truth.
Lead me and guide me in the Word of God. Show me my salvation as I have never seen it before. I know that You will bring revelation and wisdom to me. I love Your wisdom and Your revelations and Your teachings. You are an amazing God. I love You. In Jesus name. Amen.
