“The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?”
Fear is ripping off the body of Christ. If covid taught us anything it is that people, including born-again believers, walk in a huge amount of fear. Uncertainty in our identity leads us to question the Word of God and to let our experience be our guide rather than the Gospel.
If we don’t see the sick recovering miraculously on a daily basis then we tend to let our experience dictate what we believe. If we don’t see remarkable provision then we try to make it happen on our own. If our prayers seem to go unanswered then we will let the false narrative of “why bother to pray” sneak into our hearts. Fear really is a scheme meant to keep us from walking in confidence and in strength. Fear comes in surprising packages.
Sometimes it’s just worry. Sometimes anxiety. Sometimes worst case scenario thinking. Sometimes control. Sometimes people pleasing just to attain acceptance and value. An abundance of fear can lead to adopting coping mechanisms and pin us down with all sorts of addictions….But this scripture helps us break into a new perspective. Jesus is our illumination.
We don’t need to waste time thinking about the worst case scenario’s. We are in the light and the light is in us. We are saved, healed, set free, and delivered. The strength of our lives comes from within were all things are made new. So how does that light and salvation and strength manifest? Through agreement with the Holy Scriptures.
If Father says I’ll supply all your needs then we must force out unbelief and insist in our minds that His Word is truth and that we are economy proof. If we have a wandering rebellious child then we must stand up and praise Father now for complete restoration no matter how it feels or how it looks.
The revelation that this lifetime is really just the start of our lives and we are going to live forever gives us great strength and confidence. If we let that revelation govern our lives then we can drive fear right out of us.
Let’s shun fear today and remember that we are on the top of the food chain because of what our mighty savior, Jesus Christ has accomplished for us. And it really brings glory to the Father when we push past fear and walk in the child of God confidence that He paid for. Go for it!
Father, I’m so grateful for Your salvation. I believe everything that You say in Your Word. Jesus, You are the way and the truth and the life. I will not fear or be worried or anxious about anything. I know that You have answered all of my prayers.
I will be confident and I will not fear high gas prices or high food prices or any disease. because of You I will never taste death. I am committed to not living for this lifetime. I’m free to dream and to risk and to step out in bold faith. I believe that Holy Spirit will teach me and guide me through every situation. I’m so thankful. I love You. In Jesus name. Amen.
