Delivered from Darkness: Living in the Power of Our New Identity in Christ
Colossians 1:13
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
Through the deliverance of Jesus Christ we have been given tremendous power. We could not have delivered ourselves from darkness but our Lord has done it! Jesus Christ has given us power over all darkness. Darkness is pretending to be more powerful than light.
The enemy uses fear and condemnation and guilt to convince us we are not fully delivered from sin. He skillfully points out our failures as proof that we are not delivered. But our performance does not reflect the truth of our powerful new position in Christ.
In fact as we embrace our new creation identity we will see more and more of that power manifest throughout all aspects of our lives. Ignoring feelings, fears and the way that seems right to a man is how we walk in the Spirit.
We must accept all of the scriptural truth as absolute despite what we feel. Truth trumps facts and even our current reality.
Christ’s reality is all that matters. We have been given His righteousness and holiness. We are now as pure and holy as He is. That new creation status is the most powerful paradigm that we can adopt.
Adopting Father’s viewpoint on our Christ given new creation status propels us with great power throughout this lifetime. That powerful propulsion system is what the enemy fears the most and that’s why he tries so hard to convince us that we are lowly sinners.
We can overcome this crooked and perverse world with the realization that we have NO crooked or perverse way in us any longer. All darkness is on the outside trying to convince us that it is still a part of who we are. Light and power are ours to thrive in. All darkness is gone. Hallelujah!
Father, I am extremely grateful that You pulled me out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a Rock, Jesus Christ. I know that there is no longer any darkness in me. You have taken away all of the darkness in me. I am free from darkness and delivered into a powerful new position of sonship.
I am thankful for the deliverance that You provided for me to escape all crookedness and perverseness. I will praise Your Mighty Name every day for my deliverance. I am equipped to perform all of the good works that You have pre-ordained for me to do.
I will ignore all fear and move forwards into the most daunting circumstances because I know that You have prepared a way for me in advance. I don’t need to see the way first before I move because I will choose to trust You. I am thankful beyond measure. I love You. In Jesus name. Amen.
