John 14:6:
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Jesus Christ is not only telling us the truth, He is the truth. He encompasses the entire Word of God because He is the Word of God. He tells the history of mankind from the first Adam to the last Adam. He tells of the fall of man and the awful separation from our Father caused by simple disobedience.
He brings the law through Moses so that a weak people might be redeemed. He shows the barren state of the hearts of men through the transparency of the actions of Israel. Israel, Jacob the deceiver, is the condition of the human heart exposed for all to see and relate to.
He brings prophets to show us glimpses into the future so that we might avoid hardship and navigate through difficult circumstances. He gives us visions of the ages to come so that we may rest great expectations and hopes for the future.
Christ unveils our magnificent Father’s heart towards us in that while we were still sinners He valued us so greatly as to pay the highest price for our freedom. All men and women search for truth and desperately try to anesthetize themselves with religion, in the way that seems right to a man.
But truth, grace, and mercy don’t require a religion to prosper. Truth, grace, and mercy require agreement to thrive in us. We don’t have to try our best to become better people or strive to be perfect Christians. We must agree with the truth. We must agree with THE truth, Jesus Christ.
He implores us to take on our new creation identities so that we can become all that He has planned for us to become. We have been made holy and righteous and blameless and above reproach.
If we believe this in greater measure, taking thoughts captive and crucifying the negative contradicting thoughts with the truth of who we are, then we will become more like Jesus automatically. That’s how we follow the way and the truth and the life, of Jesus Christ, and bring the Father the glory He deserves. Hallelujah!!!
Father, I am so grateful for Your grace mercy, and truth. I am overwhelmed by Your love for me and the value that You place on me. I will believe everything that You say in Your Word is truth.
I know that You have made me righteous and holy and blameless and above reproach. I’m thankful that You made a way back to You. I love Your truth. I’m grateful for the new creation life. I am looking forward to seeing You get more out of my short lifespan here at this age. I want to expand Your kingdom. I love You. In Jesus name. Amen.
