Ezekiel 18:2-3
2 “What do you mean when you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying:
‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,
And the children’s teeth are set on edge’?
3 “As I live,” says the Lord God, “you shall no longer use this proverb in Israel.
The dispensation of the Grace of God, expressed through Jesus Christ, has transformed us into new creations. Father hasn’t made us ten percent new. He has made us completely new. Jesus Christ has finished His work in us. We are not half way born again but fully redeemed.
Jesus doesn’t have to go to the cross again tomorrow to “help” me be a better Christian. He has completely liberated us from our bondage to decay and released His Holy Spirit to occupy our new creations. Holy Spirit could not otherwise occupy our beings if we were only half way regenerated.
Holy Spirit must occupy a clean house and will not inhabit a reprobate dwelling. Jesus Christ has made us the righteousness of God and has made us holy brand new creations. So why do we sometimes sin or get stuck in addiction and lust? Because we look at ourselves and judge ourselves through the wrong lens. We base judgments on our performance when we should be basing our adjudication on Jesus’s performance.
He is our life and light and salvation. The more we accept that we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, the more we will see transformation manifest. In other words if I believe and trust Him that His Word is true then I must acknowledge that I’m made righteous and holy and blameless and above reproach.
We didn’t earn that remarkable distinction but we can certainly wear that new creation identity every day all day. The more we do the more the appetite for sin and destructive behavior becomes a fading distant memory. We will transform into the likeness of Jesus Christ as a byproduct of our agreement with His finished work.
Sayings like “I’m a sinner” or “God allowed it” must be eradicated from our speech. We need to just be thankful for this new life that we have been given. Praises should be flowing not condemnation.
Thankfulness should ooze from us instead of false humility. We need to be marked by our grateful attitudes. This is what brings Father glory. Agreement with what He says is paramount to our new creation growth. Let’s let Holy Spirit show us were we are believing the nonsense that is not TRUTH.
Father, I am so grateful for Your Mercy and love and grace. There is no way I could have arrested my behavior enough to get holy enough to approach You. You made a way were there was no way.
Hallelujah! I’m forever grateful. Thank You that You have made me righteous and holy and blameless and above reproach. I will take every thought captive that distorts that truth and I will accomplish all of the purposes that You placed in my heart when I was knot together in my mother’s womb. I know I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I’m blessed beyond measure. I’m truly grateful. I love You. In Jesus name. Amen.
